Crafting projects out of wood and Christmas are in my blood!

I grew up helping my dad out in the garage. My earliest memory of the garage is cutting out a star wand on the band saw. Why? I can't recall any more. It slowly snowballed from there.

I made jewelry boxes for all my high school friends for graduation. For many years, it was mainly assisting my dad when he needed an extra pair of hands or random (and infrequent) projects I decided to make. We figured out removing the wooden step into the house and placing it in front of the workbench was the perfect height for me to work.

It was after college that I really started developing my wood working skills. It all started with a Christmas Tree...

In 2003, I asked for a wooden Christmas tree for my yard to decorate. My dad made a 3D Christmas Tree and my mom painted it for my college graduation. A few years later, my parents gave me a pair of moose. The next year, 2009, I decided I wanted to add to my outdoor Christmas display. I went over to my dad's garage and made some penguins. This became a yearly tradition to add a new piece that I made, painted, and finished.

After more than a decade, I have 45 (and counting) wooden Christmas decorations - all made in my dad's garage.

My love for building Christmas decorations and displaying them on the exterior of my house for Christmas comes from my Grandpa, my mother's father.

He built his own lighted Christmas decorations...

and decorated the exterior of his house.

He made lighted decorations for his grandchildren. Some day, I will get to add a wreath or a candy cane to my decorations.

The snowball has gotten bigger. For many years, I have (and still do) make Christmas and non-holiday decorations for family and friends. Now, I make items for individuals outside of my circle.

Sharing my love for wood and Christmas!
